The Fall 2003 semester brought many changes to the Zeta Chapter of Sigma Alpha. One of these changes was the acquisition of a chapter house. This endeavor was undertaken and accomplished through the efforts of the newly formed Sigma Alpha House Corporation, Sigma Alpha Alumnae, Sigma Alpha collegiate members, Sigma Alpha parents, Sigma Alpha National Board, as well as members of Greek Affairs, the LSU Board of Supervisors, LSU faculty, and the brothers of Pi Kappa Alpha Fraternity.
During the Summer of 2004, the Sigma Alpha House Corporation closed on the purchase of the chapter house. Pictures of the signing are coming soon. It was a long journey, most of which was stress-filled. But the final outcome made the time and energy spent well worth it.
Pictures of the house will be added for you to see the progress that has occurred in transforming the house from a fraternity house into a sorority house thus far. So check back for more updates.
June 10, 2005: Many thanks go to Sharon Beach, who was the first President of the Sigma Alpha House Corporation. Sharon gave of herself in so many ways to ensure that the purchase of the house became a reality. As Sharon moves on to other momentous life adventures, like her upcoming nuptials, I will remember everything she has done for this sorority. Thank you so much, Sharon!
